Patios and outdoor rooms built for Ottawa frost, with fire, lighting and privacy planned in.
Plant lists chosen for zone 5a winters, clay soil and the light each bed actually gets.
A good landscape starts on paper. We measure the yard, note the sun, the slopes, the trees and where water goes after a storm, then draw a plan you can review before a shovel goes in the ground.
Ottawa sets real limits. Natural Resources Canada's plant hardiness map puts the city in zone 5a, winters are long, and much of the area has heavy clay soil that drains slowly. Frost moves anything built on a poor base, so patios and walls are built on a proper depth of compacted gravel.
City rules shape the design too. At least half of a front yard has to stay soft landscaping, grading cannot send water onto a neighbour's lot, and protected trees need a permit to remove. We design inside those rules so the build does not stall.
We serve The Glebe, Old Ottawa South, Kanata, Manotick, Orléans and across Ottawa.
